Ernest LaMont Greer, co-president of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2020 Power 100 list. This is the seventh time Greer has been named to the annual list that profiles the 100 most influential Atlantans.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s editors compile the list that includes business leaders who have had significant impact on the community. The publication noted that “as metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, experience social unrest over the killings of African-Americans, and prepare for bitterly fought political elections this coming November, leadership has never been more important.” The individuals highlighted on the list (just 100 in a metro area of six million) “will play a major role guiding the city and state through these events and into the future.”

“Ernest is not only a highly-accomplished business attorney, but an outstanding leader and champion of our Atlanta community,” said Atlanta Managing Shareholder Theodore I. Blum. “He plays a key role in the strategic direction of the firm and is the driving force behind many of our efforts that benefit clients, attorneys, and business professionals. Through professional affiliates and personal commitments, Ernest prioritizes serving the Atlanta community. He is dedicated to helping others and using his global role and voice to not simply create awareness but, most importantly, to drive change.”

Greer plays a key role in the strategic direction of the firm and firmwide day-to-day operations. Prior to his role as co-president, he served as vice president of the firm, co-chair of the U.S. Strategic Committee, and the Atlanta office’s managing shareholder. Greer currently serves on the boards for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Atlanta History Center, Achieve Atlanta, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and the Atlanta Police Foundation. Greer also currently serves as the Director of Buckhead Coalition and is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Guardsman, Inc.

His leadership, accomplishments, and legal practice have been recognized by many industry publications and organizations, including the National Law Journal, Atlanta magazine, The Atlantan, Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Daily Report, National Bar Association, Best Lawyers in America, Chambers & Partners USA, Georgia Super Lawyers, and Georgia Trend's “Legal Elite.” In 2018, Greer was inducted into the Gate City Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
