NEW YORK, July 19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Nataliya Rymer will present a webinar titled "Self-Sponsored Immigration Options to the US" for the Celesq Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program July 21 at 2 p.m. EST.
With only a handful of paths to permanent residence via self-sponsorship, opportunities are limited, and these are generally all in the employment-based immigrant categories. For those seeking temporary visas, while there is technically no self-sponsorship possible, some temporary visa categories may allow foreign nationals to form corporate entities to act as temporary visa petitioners or, in limited cases, have their companies overseas act as such sponsors. Rymer will walk through temporary and permanent visa options on the basis of self-employment. She will discuss the different visa categories to include self-sponsorship for permanent residence: EB-1 extraordinary ability, EB-2 National Interest Waiver petitions, and EB-5 Immigrant Investor petitions: requirements, concerns, adjudication trends; and nonimmigrant visa categories that lend themselves well to self-sponsorship: O-1, E-1 and E-2, L-1: requirements, common concerns and strategies, adjudication trends.
Rymer focuses her practice on employment-based immigration and compliance. Rymer represents clients in a wide range of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant matters, including professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty traders and investors, immigrant investors, and persons of extraordinary ability. Rymer also has experience working with employers on I-9 employment verification matters as well as H-1B and LCA compliance-related issues.
