Greenberg Traurig Selects Amanda Glass as an Equal Justice Works Fellow
PHOENIX (PRWEB) March 27, 2019 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP selected Arizona State University (ASU) alumna Amanda Glass as one of its Equal Justice Works Fellows. She is among Greenberg Traurig’s current class of 16 fellows receiving funding through Greenberg Traurig’s Holly Skolnick Fellowship Foundation to provide legal services pro bono to community programs.
As an Equal Justice Works Fellow, Glass is working with the nonprofit Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL), a public interest law firm committed to defending the rights of individuals with a wide range of physical, mental, psychiatric, cognitive and sensory disabilities. Glass is a graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She earned her master’s degree in special education and worked with Teach for America in Los Angeles for two years. Through Teach for America, she recalls witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by students with disabilities. The experience motivated her to earn a law degree.
Glass will work at ACDL on a project designed to improve access to special education and mental health services for children in Arizona’s foster care system. The program will utilize community trainings, direct client services, advocacy, and collaboration with other Arizona organizations. Glass’s Fellowship began in September 2018 and will end in 2020.
