FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/-- Galit Kierkut, a shareholder in the Labor & Employment and Litigation practices at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will moderate a diversity program for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE), a division of the New Jersey State Bar Association Sept. 21.
The program, titled "Employment Litigation and Unconscious Bias – How to Combat Its Detrimental Impact on Your Cases and Your Clients," will take place in person at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, as well as online. The Board on Continuing Legal Education (CLE) of the Supreme Court of New Jersey has approved the program for 3.3 hours of total CLE credit, including 2.0 credits for diversity and inclusion. CLE credits are also approved for New York and Pennsylvania.
According to NJICLE, the panel will discuss facets of employment discrimination cases, including initial preventative steps that may be taken by employers, the investigation phase, and latent bias in mediations, depositions, and trials. Discussion will also address how bias impacts young practitioners, people of color, and women as litigators, and the effects the new jury selection rules in New Jersey may have.
