Greenberg Traurig’s Karen Corallo to Speak at FDLI’s Introduction to U.S. Drug Law and Regulation Course
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) July 18, 2018 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Of Counsel Karen C. Corallo will be speaking at the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) Introduction to U.S. Drug Law and Regulation course, July 24-25, in South San Francisco, California. Attendees will explore the essentials of drug law and regulation and gain a comprehensive understanding of the various administrative agencies that impact the industry.
Corallo will speak at the session titled, “Overview of Drug Law and Regulation,” July 24 from 8:35 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PT. Specifically, Corallo will address landmark legislative enactments for drug regulation and development of today’s statutory framework. She will provide historical context and discuss major statutory underpinnings.
Corallo is the former Director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) Division of Drug Imports, Exports, Recalls, and Shortages. In that role, she authored and executed the FDA’s global drug imports strategy, managed operations and supervised staff, and spearheaded important drug policy initiatives. Before that, Karen was Associate Chief Counsel in FDA’s Office of Chief Counsel, where she worked with the Department of Justice Consumer Protection Branch on civil enforcement matters involving all FDA-regulated commodities and with U.S. Attorneys’ Offices across the country on criminal enforcement matters. In addition to her government work, Corallo was a commercial litigation partner for a global law firm and also served as in-house counsel at a Fortune 100 company.
In addition, Corallo represents pharmaceutical, medical device, and food industry clients and advises them on administrative, regulatory, and enforcement matters.
