Allen will participate in Westlaw Japan's 5th Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Arbitration Day 2019, jointly hosted with the Japan International Dispute Resolution Center, Nov. 13 in Osaka, Japan.
Allen will speak during the second session titled, "Where to next? - Japan as a Seat for International Arbitration." Drawing on the experience of both the traditional seats in the west and these seats in the east, this session explores the ingredients for Japan to be another seat in Asia well worth considering for international arbitration.
Allen is one of the lead shareholders in Greenberg Traurig's International Arbitration & Litigation Group. His practice focuses on international commercial and investor-state arbitration and cross-border disputes. Allen's practice has a heavy focus on the Asia-Pacific region. He splits time between Greenberg Traurig's Washington D.C., Tokyo, and Shanghai offices. Allen represents clients in a variety of industries with an emphasis on energy, manufacturing, construction, and aviation. He has wide-ranging experience in high-value international and U.S. arbitrations. Allen also litigates the enforceability of arbitration clauses and arbitration awards in U.S. courts. He is a frequent lecturer on international arbitration topics and is a former adjunct professor in the international arbitration discipline. Allen is currently serving a two-year term as vice chair of the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Committee of the 1,500-member Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
