Greenberg Traurig’s Thomas G. Allen to Speak at IPBA, McGill University Program on China and ADR

Allen will speak at the Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s and McGill University program, “China and Alternative Dispute Resolution: Emerging Developments,” Nov. 4 in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
The panelists will participate in a roundtable discussion on the subject of Alternative Dispute Resolution in China. Topics to be covered range from: challenges in securing court assistance for Chinese arbitrations, including the enforcement of awards; particularities of arbitrating or mediating in China, including the impact of the new mediated settlements convention; and the myriad complexities of dispute settlement associated with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Allen is one of the lead shareholders in Greenberg Traurig’s International Arbitration & Litigation Group. His practice focuses on international commercial and investor-state arbitration and cross-border disputes. Allen’s practice has a heavy focus on the Asia-Pacific region. He splits time between Greenberg Traurig’s Washington D.C., Tokyo, and Shanghai offices. Allen represents clients in a variety of industries with an emphasis on energy, manufacturing, construction, and aviation. He has wide-ranging experience in high-value international and U.S. arbitrations. Allen also litigates the enforceability of arbitration clauses and arbitration awards in U.S. Courts. He is a frequent lecturer on international arbitration topics and is a former adjunct professor in the international arbitration discipline. Allen is currently serving a two-year term as Vice Chair of the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Committee of the 1,500-member Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
