Greenberg Traurig’s Tomás Leonard to Speak at the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Conference
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (PRWEB) March 18, 2019 -- Tomás Leonard, a shareholder in the International Arbitration & Litigation Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) 10th Annual Corporate Counsel Conference at the Albuquerque Convention Center March 20-23, 2019.
Specifically, Leonard will participate in a panel on Thursday, March 21, titled, “Sink or Swim: Public Interest/Government Water Tracks.” The panelists will discuss ethical issues and dilemmas that can arise in representing governmental and corporate entities when advising a governing body and leader of the organization, on a local and national scale, including board of directors and CEOs.
Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Leonard focuses his practice on international arbitration and international litigation covering primarily foreign direct investment (FDI) in Latin American countries. He advises and represents both private investors and sovereign states in international arbitration proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and other forums. Leonard also represents clients in trade disputes before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Prior to practicing law in the United States, he practiced in Argentina, representing financial institutions, investment funds, and international investors in corporate, finance, and banking matters.
