Greg Stratis Elected Chairman of National Precast Concrete Association
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 19, 2016 -- Greg Stratis has been elected as the National Precast Concrete Association’s Chairman of the Board. Stratis began his one-year term on October 1st at NPCA’s 51st Annual Convention in Austin, Texas, after serving on the board since 2011. Earlier this year, Stratis assumed his newly-appointed role as President of Shea Concrete Products headquartered in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Family owned and operated, Shea Concrete Products was started in 1949 and has been a NPCA member since 1974. Owner, Ed Shea, had stepped down from president in May 2016 to allow Stratis the opportunity to lead the company. Stratis, a 2016 Master Precaster graduate, has been with the company for over 23 years.
“Greg has a passion for the industry and for what the association stands for, and the membership will benefit from that in the coming year,” said NPCA President Ty Gable. “Greg and the Board will be instrumental in guiding the future direction of the association to ensure it best serves all members.”
In his acceptance speech at NPCA’s annual convention, Stratis spoke of his experiences in the industry and the association, future initiatives and how the association is dedicated to addressing all member challenges in the coming year.
“We all know it is a challenging time to be a precaster,” he said. “But for every new challenge there are new opportunities, and the Board, committees and staff are all committed to helping our members take advantage of them. I’m excited to get started and I’m looking forward to the next 12 months.”
This excitement carries over into his newly appointed role at Shea Concrete Products. “I’m very much looking forward to influencing the company’s direction and continuing to position Shea as a leader in the precast concrete industry. Everything I’ve done in my career has prepared me for this role and I’m appreciative of the opportunity that Ed has given me.”
