Four Senior Hires Deepen Federal and National Security Expertise

- Andrew Thompson, Senior Vice President of Adversary Operations. Thompson joins GreyNoise from Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), where he was Head of Global Signals Operations. His teams fused intelligence from Mandiant intrusion investigations, security operations, product telemetry, commercial vendors, partners, and sensitive technical and human-derived access to defend Google, its users, and its customers. Before that, he served as a United States Marine in ground combat, counterintelligence, human intelligence, and cyberspace operations against terrorist and foreign intelligence entities.
- Mark Mager, Head of Adversary Engagement. Mager previously led endpoint security research teams and built foundational endpoint detection and response capabilities at Elastic and Endgame. Prior to his work in the private sector, Mager led the research and development of advanced computer network operations tools at Battelle and Lockheed Martin and supported clients throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area as a reverse engineering subject matter expert.
- Steve Miller, Principal Threat Researcher. Miller has been working at the nexus of incident response, detection engineering, and threat intelligence for more than two decades. As AI Threats Mission Lead at Google Threat Intelligence Group, he built programs and teams to track AI threat activity and defend GenAI platforms. Prior to that, Miller held senior threat intelligence positions at Microsoft and Mandiant, where he worked on threat tracking and attribution, detection research, and product design. He previously worked as a Digital Forensics Researcher for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a Security Engineer for Cornell University, and he served in the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command as a program manager at the National Security Agency.
- Joe Lampert, Director, National Security Solutions. A retired U.S. Army Major with more than 20 years of service, Lampert held intelligence and cyber warfare assignments supporting U.S. Cyber Command and U.S. Strategic Command. Prior to joining GreyNoise, he served as Senior Account Director at Recorded Future, where he was named Recorded Future's Global Account Manager of the Year in 2024 and Public Sector Account Executive of the Year in 2022. He has also held roles at the U.S. Army Reserve, Splunk, EY, and Verizon supporting national security partnerships across the Intelligence Community, USCYBERCOM, the Department of War, and the FBI. At EY, he helped design and operationalize cyber threat intelligence programs for manufacturing and financial services clients.
