The AESP California Chapter’s DER Aggregation webinar series will bring together a panel of experts to discuss advancements in DER techniques and approaches that will help the commercial, industrial and residential markets improve grid stability. The impact of climate change and increase in severe weather events present a great challenge to avoiding power interruptions and in the session titled “Creative Market Based DER Aggregation Approaches,” Marcus will share strategies to make meaningful contributions to state and regional efforts to stabilize the power grid.

Rachel Marcus is a demand response program manager at GridPoint, a leader in building energy management and optimization technology that decarbonizes commercial buildings and drives grid modernization. With over a decade of experience driving sustainability programs, policy and customer success, Marcus brings a unique perspective to DR planning and DER procedures. Prior to her time at GridPoint, Marcus led a number of DR and smart metering efforts, customer success strategies and peak shaving programming at industry-leading companies, such as Voltus, EnelX and EnerNOC. Additionally, she spent time helping develop and pass Act 129 in Pennsylvania to reduce energy consumption, forming the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility and mandating renewable portfolio standards in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. At GridPoint, she is responsible for accelerating the growth of grid interactive assets within DR programming and DER partnerships.
