Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) Makes the Cover of 'Shale Play Water Management' Magazine
Wharton, NJ (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- This winter, Wharton, NJ-based Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT), was featured in the January/February issue of Shale Play Water Management magazine. The article, "One Size Doesn't Fit All: Treatment Variations in the Field," features Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC, Vice President Matthew Phillips and Chief Engineer Robert Orlando.
The objective of Shale Play Water Management is to provide information that leads to effective and responsible energy and environmental solutions for the North American Oil and Gas Industry.
The magazine article details how GWTT was selected by a major oil and gas exploration production company operating in the Marcellus Shale. The oil and gas company needed a mobile treatment system to process their flowback water for reuse, and GWTT was there to design that system.
The customized industrial wastewater treatment methods developed by GWTT adjust pH and reduce significant concentrations of drilling additives, such as friction reducers, polymers, iron, total suspended solids and bacteria. As the magazine article details, their treatment system is designed to be completely mobile and fully operational within just a few hours of delivery.
Specific treatment processes included in the project were chemical oxidation and precipitation, gravity settling and clarification of particulates, sludge handling and processing, mechanical filtration, and biocide injection to disinfect the water.
GWTT is featured on pages 32 and 33 of the magazine, with Orlando appearing on the magazine's cover. The cover photograph was taken at the GWTT facility in Wharton, NJ in the company's lab where contaminated water is analyzed and customized treatment processes are developed.
Orlando has more than 10 years of experience in environmental engineering and is currently responsible for assisting all divisions and regions with engineering-related tasks. He also performs research and development of current technologies with an eye toward emerging markets.
