GS1 announces Drummond Group as the first testing service to offer Electronic Product Code Information Systems (EPCIS) conformance testing under the GS1 Solution Partner Program. Drummond Group has extensive experience in both comprehensive compliance and the healthcare industry and has developed a compliance tool for testing.

Being heavily involved in comprehensive compliance, security, and the healthcare industry, it was a natural progression for Drummond Group to partner with GS1 in providing EPCIS 1.2 testing services.

Drummond Group, a thought leader in compliance and interoperability testing, announced today that it is offering Electronic Product Code Information Systems (EPCIS) conformance testing under the GS1 Solution Partner Program.

“Drummond Group is no stranger to the pharmaceutical industry and the drug supply chain. Being heavily involved in comprehensive compliance, security, and the healthcare industry, it was a natural progression for Drummond Group to partner with GS1 in providing EPCIS 1.2 testing services,” said Brian Gibb, President, Drummond Group LLC. “We believe in the benefits this will bring to the industry and with the backing of major drug supply chain stakeholders, we’re confident in the program’s success. We’re excited to be on the forefront of this initiative and know that our experience will enhance both the DSCSA and GS1 efforts in combating the opioid epidemic,” concluded Mr. Gibb.

Drummond Group developed its EPCIS 1.2 Conformance Testing Portal which incorporates a custom-built and efficient EPCIS message validation engine, in accordance with the requirements produced by the GS1 US RX Secure Supply Chain workgroup (RxSSC WG). Drummond Group is now certified by GS1 to offer EPCIS 1.2 conformance testing to drug manufacturers, drug wholesalers, repackagers, and track and trace software solution providers implementing EPCIS 1.2 messaging. As an active member of the GS1 US RxSSC Workgroup, Drummond Group contributed toward the group’s development of the EPCIS R1.2 Implementation Guideline in support of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act.

“Drummond Group is committed to the GS1 EPCIS testing program and developed its user-friendly, and cost-effective conformance testing tool in strict accordance to GS1 US RxSSC WG requirements for the EPCIS Conformance Portal,” added Aaron Gomez, Supply Chain Business Unit Leader, Drummond Group LLC. “Our EPCIS Conformance Portal allows drug manufacturers, wholesalers, repackagers, track and trace software providers to easily test and troubleshoot their EPCIS 1.1 and 1.2 event messaging implementations. It allows customers to upload EPCIS XML based event messages for each test scenario and receive immediate validation results against the EPCIS 1.2 Implementation Guideline requirements”.

Successful completion of any EPCIS test scenario as defined by the GS1 EPCIS workgroup will allow Drummond Group to submit passing testing results for each test scenario to GS1. GS1 awards a certification seal (Trustmark) as proof of compliance for each passing test scenario. The GS1 EPCIS Trustmark is a key component in demonstrating that drug supply chain organizations demonstrate in-part compliance to the comprehensive FDA DSCSA regulations.
