GS1 US Executive Joins SXSW Panel “Revolutionizing Food Safety with Blockchain Tech”
EWING, N.J. (PRWEB) February 20, 2019 -- GS1 US blockchain expert, Melanie Nuce, will join representatives from Cargill, the Institute of Food Technologists’ Global Food Traceability Center, and the Independent Purchasing Cooperative for SUBWAY at SXSW to discuss blockchain technology and its potential for improved food traceability.
The session is part of the SXSW Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Track, during which technologists, investors, creators and industry leaders explore the ways in which blockchain technologies are being deployed and discuss what is fueling the exponential rise of this technology across all industries.

Blockchain is being evaluated across the food industry as a potentially powerful tool to increase consumer confidence in the food ecosystem. The panelists will discuss how to achieve a clearer view into the journey of food from farm to table. Ms. Nuce will specifically discuss how global data standardization is a critical foundational step to enable optimal data sharing and systems interoperability for blockchain.
