(PRWEB) August 16, 2014 -- Jon demonstrates this rhythm and blues style lick that incorporates the sliding fourths and fifths technique in the key of E. The basic concept is to start on either the root note or the fifth and harmonize that note with the fourth, slide it up one whole step and then back down again. MacLennan demonstrates this concept as follows; bar your first across the first and second strings at the 12th fret and pick both strings together and then slide up to the 14th fret and then back down. Next is the 11th fret of the 3rd string with first finger and 12th fret of the 2nd string with 2nd finger and pick both strings together and slide up one whole step and back. Next is bar your first finger across the 3rd and 4th strings at the 9th fret and pick together and then slide up to the 11th fret and back, and then finally, repeat that same sequence, but on the 5th and 4th strings.
