SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) October 08, 2018 -- The days are getting shorter, and the nights are getting colder. Yes, it's autumn and that means the Gullicksen Group is going through their "Change of Season Checklist." There are so many important maintenance items to keep up with at home and the office that it can feel overwhelming. So make a habit of entering this checklist into a calendar every equinox or Daylight Savings Time clock change in order to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

  • Furnace Filters – Time to pull out the filter and see if it's clogged with dust, hair and dirt. If it is, replace it with a new one!
  • Smoke and CO Detector Batteries – Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors can save lives, but only if they are in operating condition. To be on the safe side, swap out those batteries once a year.
  • Earthquake Kit – Experts recommend having at least a 3-day supply of food and water for each person (and pet!) in the family. Now is a great time to make sure there's enough water, non-perishable food, a battery or hand crank operated radio, flashlight, and phone charger, along with essential medications. Eventually medicines and food items will expire, so now is a great time to check their expiration dates. If the items will expire before next year's check then replace them now.
