Gullicksen Shares Life/Work Balance Tips at REdiscover Event
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) November 19, 2018 -- On Friday, Nov. 9 Tim Gullicksen of the Gullicksen Group joined Steve DeLaPena of Zephyr Real Estate in a presentation at the REdiscover Business Planning Event focused on life/work balance.
Attendees were invited to this informative and inspirational half-day event dedicated to agent success in the rapidly changing real estate market. The headliner was Leslie Appleton Young, the California Association of Realtors' chief economist.
Over 100 real estate agents were in the audience to hear Tim speak about his suggestions to have a successful personal and professional life. His talk covered subjects that ranged from discovering and encouraging good daily habits, like keeping your voicemail and email inboxes empty, to seamlessly integrating work and personal responsibilities into everyday life. Rather than imposing a structure on each day, he recommends maintaining a list of tasks according to relative urgency so each day can be developed organically. Tim used the metaphor of a college campus where the grounds were planted entirely in grass the first year. After a year, the foot traffic of students and faculty across the campus paved those naturally occurring pathways. It's another version of "go with the flow."
"I get a lot more done, and have a lot less stress, organizing my life in this way," said Gullicksen. "Ultimately if I am happier and satisfied, then I have more emotional bandwidth and energy to attend to my clients."
Tim's last words of advice? It's important to both carve time out for vacations throughout the year, and to relax and unwind a little bit each day. Participating in and giving back to the Bay Area professional community is just one of the ways the Gullicksen Group supports the industry, and endeavors to improve it for everyone.
