As the host firm of the BKR International Worldwide meeting this month, Gumbiner Savett was given the honor of choosing a recipient for the organization's $3,000 scholarship to be given to a student pursuing an accounting degree. BKR International, a leading association of independent accounting and business advisory firms is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is holding their worldwide meeting in Los Angeles.

GS chose the scholarship recipient from student applicants in accounting programs throughout Los Angeles County. Requirements for the scholarship applicants included students with strong grades, who had involvement in extra-curricular activities, and relevant work experience. Those qualified where invited to in-person interviews in order to find the most well-deserved student for the $3,000 prize.

Kubo will receive her award at BKR International's Gala at the Loew's Hollywood hotel. The gala is part of the Worldwide Meeting which brings together member firms from all over the world for professional learning, networking and discussions about the future of the accounting field.
