NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- GZERO Media announced today that award-winning journalist and digital video leader Tony Maciulis has joined the company as Head of Video. He will concurrently serve as executive producer of GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, a weekly foreign affairs program airing on public television and across digital platforms.
Maciulis will oversee production of all broadcast and digital video initiatives for GZERO, including existing franchises "Puppet Regime" and "In 60 Seconds," and development of new concepts and partnerships.
He will report directly to GZERO CEO Alexsandra Sanford.
"Tony is an exceptional journalist and creative professional," said Sanford. "He has the ideal combination of talents and experience to lead GZERO's video strategy and editorial vision."
"I am proud to join a company creating such intelligent, important, and entertaining content," Maciulis said. "At a moment when the news is too often politicized or polemical, GZERO is a welcome voice of truth and reason."
In more than 15 years in broadcast and digital news, Maciulis served as producer of The CBS Evening News, senior supervising producer of Katie Couric's nationally syndicated talk show, and head of video for Yahoo News, among other roles. He is a recipient of both an Alfred I. DuPont and an Edward R. Murrow award, and has been Emmy-nominated.
Maciulis graduated from Columbia University and holds an M.S. from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in New York City, where the role will be based.
