MANILA, Philippines, Oct. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After almost two decades of building websites for local and international companies, August 99 is hosting Hack Manila 2018, its first-ever large-scale hackathon. Solo, duo, and team contenders have the chance to win prizes and gifts of up to ₱500,000 for the most innovative and best performing participants. It will be held on Saturday, November 17 to Sunday, November 18, at Loft's coworking and events space at One Corporate Center in Ortigas.
Over the weekend, for 48 hours (from registration to closing ceremony), a group of dynamic hackers ranging from students to professionals from all across Metro Manila will engage in collaborative programming to produce a web, mobile, or hardware project from scratch. Enlisted as mentors and judges for the event are leaders, founders, and avid tech nerds that have the same goals in mind: to challenge emerging talents, to empower them to innovate and develop ground-breaking ideas, and to change the way we do tech. Among them are Tiger Bitanga, Bernd Rennebeck, Ken Reddy, Lynne Cawley, Chris Mitchell, Itamar Gero, Ruben Canlas Jr., Brian Tan Seng, Devlin Duldulao, Jason Acidre, and Rommel Peralta, to name a few.

Hack Manila has partnered with several brands to support the two-day hackathon that will accommodate over 150 participants, allowing the contenders to focus on producing their best work.
