McCarthy's promotion comes as the firm enjoys substantial growth and opens a new office in San Diego, CA.

McCarthy brings more than 20 years of experience in drug development, beginning her career with Halloran in 2011 as a Senior Consultant. In her new role as CDO, she will provide strategic leadership to the development teams who support a broad and diverse portfolio of life sciences companies in the areas of clinical, regulatory, quality and program leadership. Since the beginning of 2018, McCarthy's team has held 17 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meetings, filed 16 Investigational New Drug (IND) applications, 8 special designations (Orphan, Fast Track, Breakthrough), filed one BLA, and managed a number of EU scientific meetings. They are currently serving as a development partner for over 50 clinical stage programs. Halloran's development services are a key element to the firm's continued success and growth.

She joined Biogen in 1999 and held several progressive leadership roles in Clinical, Medical Research, Organizational Effectiveness, and Program and Alliance Management. Today, she is an active member of the life science community and serves as an Advisory Board member for Life Science Cares.
