Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. Settles Case for Woman Injured in Crash Caused by Deployment of Steel Barrier at Camp Pendleton Security Checkpoint
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (PRWEB) August 31, 2018 -- Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. filed a complaint June 2, 2015 in the Superior Court of The State of California against the security system’s owner and operator of Camp Pendleton’s security Barrier System; Billy Joe Graves and Miles Preservation, LLC. The complaint filed under case number: 37-2015-00018246-CU-PA-NC.
According to the complaint, on October 7, 2014, Amanda Stephen and her young son were traveling through the Camp Pendleton checkpoint on Vandegrift Road when a security barrier was deployed by defendant, Billy Joe Graves, who was in the course and scope of his employment with Miles Construction, which was subcontracted out by FutureNet Security Systems. The deployment of the barrier instantly stopped Mrs. Stephen’s vehicle, essentially causing Mrs. Stephen to slam head-on into a steel barrier.
Per the complaint, the defendants operated the Barrier System at the entrance to Camp Pendleton in San Diego County in such a negligent manner as to cause a collision with Amanda Stephen’s vehicle, all of which caused serious injuries to Amanda Stephen. Furthermore, the complaint enumerated, defendants negligently, carelessly and without due care or regard for the life, safety, or rights of Amanda Stephen, did so own, entrust, maintain, operate, and/or failed to maintain the Barrier System operated by defendants in a safe manner, causing subject incident, all of which caused serious injuries to Amanda Stephen.
The complaint also established, because of the negligence, the defendants, and each of them, Amanda Stephen sustained economic damages and loss of earnings, and will continue to incur economic damages and loss of earnings.
