Harris Teeter today announced it will provide hourly associates in its retail, distribution center, manufacturing and corporate offices a one-time bonus of $300 for every full-time associate and $150 for every part-time associate. The company has also shared with associates its newly created Emergency Leave Guidelines.
“During this unprecedented time, we are extremely appreciative and incredibly proud of our Harris Teeter family for their tireless and selfless work,” said Rod Antolock, president of Harris Teeter. “Our associates are working around the clock to serve our shoppers and communities, and we want to provide them with additional support during this extraordinary time.”
Associates who were working for the company on or before March 1, 2020 are eligible. This appreciation pay will be paid out on April 3, 2020.
“We will continue to be there for our valued associates in the same way they are there for our shoppers and communities through this appreciation pay as well as through the internal distribution of our new Emergency Leave Guidelines,” said Antolock.
The company will also support associates through the Fred J. Morganthall, II Foundation – an internal employee assistance fund – which could offer financial support to associates who may be directly affected by COVID-19.
