Hathaway Instructs New Video Courses for Outdoor Project Enthusiasts
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) December 28, 2016 -- Outdoor enthusiasts and gardeners may crave time free from ever-present screens, but that doesn’t mean they can’t benefit from the technological resources available at their fingertips. A new YouTube series for the handy homeowner aspires to simplify the backyard project process.
Shannon Hathaway, Super-Sod outside sales consultant, educates attendees about DIY projects during monthly workshops. The courses, hosted by Super-Sod in Cary, North Carolina, are now available in a series of YouTube videos for worldwide viewing.
The series of recorded classes covers a variety of outdoor projects. As a gardener and former landscaping company owner, Hathaway shares her knowledge on everything from lawn care to gardening to stonework. Tutorials in Hathaway’s workshops offer advice and “life hacks” for backyard beginners and veterans alike.
“Classes are a great way to not only educate our clients, but to also give them a forum to ask questions and teach us what is important to the homeowner, the landscaper or the DIY weekend warrior," Hathaway said.
Because a live audience is present during each video, Hathaway has the chance to answer questions and address viewer concerns. As customers ask about new turfgrass varieties and home owners association regulations, she offers tips for handling a number of potential obstacles. The opportunity to help large groups with the same questions has encouraged the growth and addition of classes.
“We are now offering classes for landscapers that provide credits toward maintaining their pesticide license,” Hathaway said. “The thirst for knowledge is there. Super-Sod is listening to their clients and offering them the services they need. It’s that simple.”
The courses currently available on YouTube cover gardening and stonework. “Vegetable Gardening” details proper raised bed garden size and placement, Soil3 organic compost and planting recommendations, and how to create an aboveground potato plant tower. “Building Stone Walls” demonstrates methodology behind building both mortar and dry-stack walls, the right type of equipment, and stone selection. “Permeable Hardscaping” covers creating a walkway with Drivable Grass and a permeable patio with flagstone and river rock.
Future topics coming to the video playlist include “Proper Care of Warm Season Lawns,” “The Dirt on North Carolina Soil,” and “Fescue Sodding, Seeding and Care.”
Homeowners in the Triangle area who are interested in attending workshops in person can join the Super-Sod newsletter list. The monthly newsletter includes seasonal lawn care tips for warm- and cool-season lawns, information on upcoming classes, and in-store specials.
