Hayley Williams' Brand, Good Dye Young, Relaunches Semi-Permanent Hair Color, Ahead of Retail Expansion
Community-driven hair color brand Good Dye Young (@gooddyeyoung), founded by Paramore's Grammy Award winner Hayley Williams and her longtime stylist Brian O'Connor, relaunches its original product, Semi-Permanent Hair Color, ahead of a retail expansion that will kick off in September.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The relaunch of the Semi-Permanent Hair Color line was inspired to invite all those with a desire to express themselves to be part of the GDY world. Unique to hair care, the product packaging is a communication platform, telling the story of color, quality, inclusion, community and happiness that is an essential part of the brand DNA. GDY is doing hair color differently.
The relaunched Semi-Permanent Hair Color is:
- Generous in Size: 5 oz., $18
- Vibrant in Color: 9 colors plus a Fader in a cream formula that is mixable for countless color options
- Hair Healthy: contains Sunflower Extract and is Ammonia-Free, Peroxide-Free, Formaldehyde-Free, 4-APB Free, PPD-Free, Persulfates-Free, Paraben-Free, Resorcinol-Free, MEA-Free, Nickel-Free
- Vegan and Cruelty Free
- Essential Oil: scented with Bergamot Essential Oil for an uplifting experience
- Born in Nashville: GDY lives in Nashville, using local artists and talent for a unique perspective to beauty
The new brand logo and packaging design were created by local Nashville creative agency, LUUM. "Refined yet accessible, we used clean lines, iconic symbolism, and bold color to build a visual language that is both flexible and strong—showcasing the self-expression of the GDY community," says Jordan Short, of LUUM Studio. The new design features color matched cues and product benefits on the outside. In true form, the brand also gave double meaning to the phrase "it's what's inside that counts" by including good-for-hair ingredients in the formula, and great-for-community quotes from founder Hayley Williams on the inside of the carton, including tips and tricks in application, and the 'free from' ingredient list.
Good Dye Young will continue to roll out its new look with more Poser Paste (its washable Hair Makeup product) in September and new concept formulations to come in the Spring. With a clear and optimistic brand vision, Good Dye Young is firmly placing its stake in the ground to grow its diverse community and become the go-to brand for the pivotal generation.
About Good Dye Young
Hayley Williams has been at the cultural intersection of the music, beauty and fashion worlds since she first began touring with her band Paramore as a teenager. She and Brian O'Connor have worked together for over a decade and became best friends through years of creative collaboration. They see Good Dye Young as a color brand with a vision to create a community around self-expression and happiness in yourself. The brand was launched with six vibrant semi-permanent colors, created with quality and performance in mind. GDY has since created a new segment in the hair color market with Poser Paste: temporary, washable color that the brand calls Hair Makeup. At GDY, we see that one of the biggest changes in culture today is the freedom to express yourself however you want and what is more expressive, powerful and personal than hair? We are creating products that are fast and fun, taking down the barrier of hair color and making it as easy as applying a new shade of lipstick.
