Headline Speaker at 2019 iaedp™ Symposium to Reveal What Ignites Motivation for Client and Clinician
Carolyn Costin, one of the keynote speakers at the 2019 iaedp™ Symposium, will present "Still Crazy After All These Years," showing what ignites, fuels and sustains motivation and passion, for both client and clinician, even after many years.
PEKIN, Ill., Nov. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Carolyn Costin, one of the keynote speakers at the 2019 iaedp™ Symposium, will present "Still Crazy After All These Years," showing what ignites, fuels and sustains motivation and passion, for both client and clinician, even after many years. Renowned for her clinical acumen, Costin also will share critical philosophical concepts, treatment techniques and insights on resistance, collaboration and the therapeutic relationship, that instill enthusiasm, increase satisfaction and enhance success for both patient and provider throughout the years and the recovery process.
Costin's keynote address can be heard on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, California. During her presentation, Costin will offer a brief description of her own history in the eating disorders field, providing brief previews demonstrating how and why she is still passionate about working with the eating disorder population and how she instills this in her patients. Costin also will ask audience members to describe common scenarios that leads to burnout among patients and treatment providers and then delineate how to deal with situations in order to stay motivated and passionate.
Carolyn Costin, MA, MEd, MFT, FAED, CEDS recovered from anorexia in her twenties, became a therapist and saw her first eating disorder client in 1979. Costin, a pioneer in the field, has completed six books and numerous speaking engagements. She also founded the residential treatment program, Monte Nido & Affiliates. After leaving Monte Nido, Costin opened The Carolyn Costin Institute, where she offers continuing education for clinicians and certification for eating disorder coaches.
