Heart Rate Social Introduces First Dating, Friendship and Social Community App Geared Exclusively Towards Health and Fitness-Minded People

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Heart Rate Social (HRS), the first App that connects health and fitness-minded people for friendship or more, today announced the launch of the iPhone version of its highly robust and functional phone app. Other dating apps don't cater to fitness and health minded people and apps designed strictly to connect workout partners miss the dating and social community aspects of Heart Rate Social.
Heart Rate Social was created by longtime technology professional and avid health-enthusiast, Christopher VanBerg, who saw the need for such an app and realized a city as fit and health-conscious as Austin was the perfect place to launch. "The idea came to me when I was single and using the normal dating apps, constantly seeing people who drink in all their photos, or who don't take their health seriously," said Christopher VanBerg. "I wanted to meet people who were more like me – people with a passion for health."
And as a health coach for more than ten years, Christopher found most people do better sticking to their fitness and health goals when they have accountability and support. So he created an app to help people find that, not only for dating but for friends, social circles and workout buddies. Christopher also realized the need to be part of the community and to give back, which is why Heart Rate Social donated all proceeds from its launch party to the Whole Planet Foundation, an organization working to eliminate poverty around the world. "The goal is to create a real community, for anyone who needs support, wants to meet healthy and active friends, or is looking to connect with a like-minded person for a relationship," said VanBerg.
27-year-old Libby Hill is a very busy woman. She recently competed in the Miss Texas pageant, is working on completing her degree in Nutrition at the University of Texas (she already holds a BS in Human Biology) and works as a personal trainer so she doesn't have a lot of free time to meet people "organically," which is why she is such a big fan of Heart Rate Social. "I'm in a relationship so I am not looking for someone to date and I like that HRS allows me to find a running buddy or someone to do Bikram Yoga with or maybe even get a bunch of fit girls together for a surfing trip."
42-year-old Ken Laney has been a health/lifestyle and corporate wellness coach for more than 20 years. He lives and breathes a healthy lifestyle, but he's not the kind of guy to be on Tinder or some traditional dating app. "Hey, I have lots of friends who have tried several of the popular dating apps and they almost unanimously report most dates occur at bars or parties that revolve around drinking and or other vices that really don't lead to an early morning run or yoga by the lake or even an afternoon hitting the weights so for me Heart Rate Social just makes sense," said Laney. "And I'm looking for a woman who shares my passion for living healthy and desire to live life to the fullest."
Currently HRS is free to join and already has more than 1,500 downloads in Austin with members coming in at an increasing rate daily. Heart Rate Social expects an Android version of its app by December of this year.
