For corporate relocation specialist Move Solutions, all cargo is precious. It’s an operating principle that came into sharp focus recently when it moved Heritage Auctions to its new, expansive headquarters.

“Moving the company was complex, not only because it involved the consolidation of three different locations but because many of the assets required special handling,” said Michael Monette, CEO of Move Solutions. Move Solutions was responsible for loading, transporting, unloading, and placing more than 400 tractor-trailer loads of auction items and office furniture, he said.

Heritage Auctions is the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer and the largest fine art and collectibles auction house founded in the United States. Established in 1976 in Dallas, the company’s new campus adjacent to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and in its foreign trade zone features an 8,000 square-foot gallery showroom for invitational art exhibitions and events. The new complex spans the length of nearly three football fields.

As the move was taking place, Move Solutions sister company, TechTeam Solutions, planned and executed the uninstall and reinstall of more than 700 units of IT equipment. Executed during off-hours, the move involved relocating nearly 450 Heritage employees over the course of several weekends. Work began after 5 p.m. on Friday and was completed by 8 a.m. on Monday so employees could be 100% productive at the start of the week.

Move Solutions has provided relocation services to some of the largest U.S. firms. For example, Toyota North America chose Move Solutions to execute the relocation of its California headquarters and offices in 92 locations to its new campus in the Dallas suburb of Plano.
