ENCINITAS, Calif., April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Herman Cook Volkswagen, a dealership in Encinitas, California, is proud to announce that it will be partnering with the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA for the 49th annual Roof Raisers Golf Tournament.
The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, located at 2100 Costa Del Mar Road in Carlsbad, Calif.
The proceeds from the event go to help the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, with past projects funded by previous Roof Raisers events including a 22,000 square-foot expansion of the Aquatic Center, the construction of indoor soccer arenas, the purchase of vans to transport kids to the YMCA, the renovation of the YMCA's Skate Park and much more.
This year's event will feature a golf tournament, a special dinner event, a VIP party, silent auctions and more.

The first Roof Raisers event took place in 1971, the brainchild of Rollie Ayers, Paul Ecke, Jr., Ed Harloff, Don Hubbard, Sr. and Irv Roston – a group of YMCA supporters who were looking for a way to raise funds to help put a roof over the multi-purpose room of the then-new YMCA. The event has been an annual fundraiser since, raising over $4.5 million in those 48 years.
