Heverlee Belgian Lager Debuts in Major US Cities
MIDDLEBURY, Vt (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- Heverlee, an authentic Belgian lager whose recipe dates back to medieval times, is now available in select East Coast cities. Heverlee was first crafted by the Park Abbey monks in Leuven, Belgium, and while other abbeys focused on darker, heavier ales, the Park Abbey monks pioneered a lighter, more refreshing lager type. Looking to revive the traditional lager in modern times, master Brewer and Leuven native, Joris Brams has perfected the recipe and is thrilled to bring the refreshing Belgian Pils to U.S. shores.
"In Medieval Europe, the monks forged the way with beer, but their knowledge and craft was almost wiped out when brewing became commercial,” said Brams. “The more I researched, the more I discovered how talented, and how important the monks were, particularly from the Park Abbey. I knew I’d found something special. Heverlee is a rediscovered original and I am very proud to see a quality Belgian beer re-emerge for a new audience after being all but lost for hundreds of years.”
The secret to Heverlee’s smooth Pils taste is the unique combination of barley, specially selected hops and a much slower, more traditional brewing process than those employed by mass brewers today. Heverlee is Belgian Born and Brewed.
Heverlee, which is 4.8% ABV is launching in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia on draft and in six-packs.
