High School Cube Announces Partnership With USA TODAY High School Sports
New York, N.Y. (PRWEB) July 22, 2014 -- High School Cube announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with USA TODAY High School Sports, the nation’s leading source for high school sports news and information. This partnership will give high schools across the country the ability to broadcast their sporting events live, and in HD, for free.
USA TODAY High School Sports is part of the USA TODAY Sports Media Group, a USA TODAY property owned by Gannett Co., Inc., which engages more than 110 million people every month through its powerful network of broadcast, digital, mobile and publishing properties.
High School Cube gives high schools the tools to safely and easily broadcast events LIVE and in HD from mobile devices, tablets, laptops, or advance production equipment. Schools receive their own hyper-local team channel, called a “cube,” that allows parents, students, alumni and the local community to watch these special moments for free.
“High Schools are the centerpiece of the local community, and this partnership will provide our audience with the ability to watch their favorite high school teams LIVE through their own “Cube” as well as Gannett’s digital platforms,” said Dave Morgan, President, USA TODAY Sports Media Group. “This speaks directly to our mission of being engaged in, and part of, local communities throughout the country.
“In addition, consumers will be able to go to their local Gannett digital platform (web, tablet, mobile) and view High School Cube generated on-demand replays and real-time highlights of potentially every high school event in the U.S., giving high school sports fans a one-stop option for any and all news and information.”
“Our mission is to showcase all that is good about high school. A partnership with USA TODAY High School Sports helps us do that in so many ways,” said High School Cube Co-Founder and President Kevin Doyle. “By providing our platform to USA TODAY High School Sports, we will expand the universe of schools showcasing events. With the distribution network that USA TODAY Sports Media Network provides, we will share all these great moments with an even larger audience. I am excited about the positive effect this effort will have on schools, students and communities across the country.”
As part of the partnership, USA TODAY High School Sports will work with its network of high school athletic directors to introduce the High School Cube partnership to their respective schools to enable high school students to not only learn new, rapidly changing media techniques, but to also allow them to get real media experience.
