NEW BERN, N.C., March 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ms. Varuna Sharma, an eleventh-grade high school student at Jaypee Public School in Greater Noida, India, won Best prize for her research presentation on brainwave entrainment at the 2019 International medical conference "EBNITCON-2019" (Evidence-Based Non-Invasive Therapies: Futuristic Medicine).
The high schooler beat out fierce competition from the international scientific community, and her work was chosen over that of eminent scientists, researchers, and medical doctors from across the globe.
The event was organized by the Government Institute of Medical Sciences and it serves as a unique global platform for Physiologists, Clinical Psychologists, and researchers from world-renowned institutions to share and exchange recent applications and advancements in dealing with evidence-based non-invasive therapies.
Ms. Sharma's research examined the use of brainwave entrainment to improve focus and learning. The study is titled "Acute Effect of Theta Brainwave Entrainment on Attention Span Executive Functions in Adolescents and Adults." Once considered new-age and radical, the practice of brainwave entrainment has recently risen in popularity creating a growing demand for research in this area.
