HighBreedMusic Announces Official Launch of its Online Platform with Exclusive Event
The world's first recording lounge concept expands to establish a unique genre-defying music platform (and a new format of music video content), featuring releases from multiple Grammy-winning and established artists.
NEW YORK, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HighBreedMusic is officially launching its new online platform, via its website and through an exclusive launch event on November 29th, with new original content from its network of established and Grammy-winning artists. The platform and content, more than 2 years in the making, is the result of HighBreedMusic being at the center of today's top emerging talent pool for almost a decade. The evening's event will be hosted by Kennedy (Kennedy Administration) and Phase One (The Lesson GK) and features a performance with Nick Hakim and another with 2x Grammy-winning artist Casey Benjamin performing new music (with a 7-piece band) from his upcoming record.
Led by industry veteran Tariq Khan, a music and video producer who has worked with artists like Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, and Bilal, and Grammy-winning videographer Nikki Birch, the program's co-director, HighBreedMusic's work highlights the important non-conformist artistic culture that is becoming prevalent today - with primary examples being artists such as Snarky Puppy, Kimbra, and Hiatus Kaiyote - all from HighBreedMusic's network. Acting as a hub for this cultural movement, HighBreedMusic aims to address the lack of a single accessible resource or place to represent it as a consolidated social/artistic movement. Dedicated to presenting artists who share four essential qualities: originality, virtuosity, authenticity, and timelessness, HBM is doing so not as an editorial resource, but strictly through unique and original produced video content.
"What makes HighBreedMusic special is that it's not run by a network, consumer brand, or business startup, and especially not by major record labels; it's run by actual members within this culture to represent the culture as it truly is: a vast collection of gifted artists who are ignoring pop-trends while addressing the social/political landscape of today's world," says Founder and CEO Tariq Khan. "This is an accurate and holistic snapshot of a musical movement with no genre limitations that is thriving but has only been presented in fragments, until now."
To date, HighBreedMusic has released a number of music videos, recordings, and "artists-interviewing-artists" video interviews of iconic artists such as Nai Palm (of Hiatus Kaiyote), Cory Henry (The Funk Apostles), Kimbra, Ray Angry (The Roots), Kendra Foster (D'Angelo), Casey Benjamin (The Robert Glasper Experiment), Madison McFerrin, Chris Turner (Stevie Wonder, The Roots), and has over 75 others slated for release.
A number of distinguished guests are expected to attend the launch event including The Office of Councilmember Rafael Espinal, Madison McFerrin, Nick Hakim, Josh David (The Wailers), Kendra Foster (D'Angelo), Chris Turner (Stevie Wonder, The Roots), Casey Benjamin (Robert Glasper), Justin Stanton (Snarky Puppy), Vivian Sessoms, Melanie Charles, Corey Bernhard and Steve Mckie (as Killiam Shakespeare)
The event is sponsored by Create A Ripple Studios, Moon31, LoveSac, Veltins Brewery, Desi Galli, Jessie's Nutty Cups, ARC Systems, and Telepix Photobooths.
