Highland Jazz and Blues Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana Announces Music Headliners for September 14 Event
Sixteenth annual festival in Columbia Park will feature performances by Big Sam's Funky Nation, Margie Perez and more, as well as local art and food vendors.
SHREVEPORT, La., July 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The sixteenth annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival Presented by Lagniappe P.R.I.M.E., LLC will be held, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14 at Columbia Park in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood. Columbia Park is located at 600 Columbia Street in Shreveport. With nonstop live music on two stages, the free, family-friendly festival will include headliner performances by New Orleans funk group Big Sam's Funky Nation, Cuban soul singer Margie Perez, Shreveport blues guitarist Buddy Flett, and more. In addition to music, there will be more than 70 local food and art vendors onsite and a Kid's Zone sponsored by Lang Orthodontics will offer free activities throughout the event. Dogs on leashes are welcome at the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival, where dog owners can take advantage of the Raising Cane's Dog Area, which will include water stations, free dog treats, nail trims, and more. A free shuttle provided by iShuttle will provide rides to and from the festival's additional offsite parking at Mall St. Vincent. Mall St. Vincent is located at 1133 St. Vincent Avenue in Shreveport.
The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is an annual production of the Highland Area Partnership, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development corporation whose purpose is to revitalize a 3.5 square mile community just south of downtown Shreveport.
