Highlights of the AME 2015 International Conference
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (PRWEB) October 26, 2015 -- The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) held its 2015 International Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio last week, providing networking and education on the subject of manufacturing to nearly 1,800 professionals.
“We are confident that attendees will take what they learned this week and apply it to their own companies to create meaningful change within their organizations,” said Pat Lucansky, AME 2015 conference chair.
As the world’s largest lean manufacturing conference, attendees were offered the opportunity to learn directly from world-renowned lean leaders and thinkers. The conference featured nine keynote speakers, one of which was John Ratzenberger, famous for his role as Cliff Clavin on the hit TV show “Cheers,” and now an advocate for the “Made in America” initiative. There were also 54 practitioner presentations showcasing industry leaders like Bosch Automotive Steering and Crown Equipment; 40 local best practice tours including MillerCoors and Messier-Bugatti USA; many learning resource exhibitors featuring the latest in lean thinking and continuous improvement tools; 40 pre- and post-conference workshops examining lean thinking to transform challenges in manufacturing and 18 special interest sessions led by continuous improvement specialists.
As the leading association for lean manufacturing and enterprise excellence, each year AME recognizes the companies and individuals who embody enterprise excellence and continuous improvement.
During the conference, AME honored its 2015 AME Excellence Award recipients, Accuride Erie Operations and Accuride Rockford Operations, for their demonstrated excellence in manufacturing and business.
AME also inducted Bruce Hamilton, president of GBMP and Gary Peterson, executive vice president, supply chain & production at O.C. Tanner Company, into the 2015 Hall of Fame for each of their contributions to the growth of enterprise excellence within the manufacturing community. AME also honored the 2015 Mac McCulloch Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, David Hogg, P. Eng., for his lifetime support and significant contributions to improving the products and services offered by AME to advance enterprise excellence.
