Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Teams Up with Local Organizations to Help Bring Holiday Cheer to Less-fortunate Senior Citizens
(PRWEB) December 10, 2018 -- WHAT: Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, in partnership with LifeSpan and Eastern Area Adult Services is helping to bring holiday joy to more than 400 seniors in Allegheny County through the "Presents for Seniors" program.
Over the past few weeks, Highmark employees have been busy buying and wrapping presents for seniors who live alone and might otherwise not receive any gifts this holiday season. This annual tradition has grown from providing 80 gifts when it started in the late ‘90’s to the more than 700 gifts that are now given from Highmark’s employees in Pittsburgh, Erie, Camp Hill, Parkersburg, WV and Wilmington, DE.
PHOTO OPP: Highmark employee volunteers will be helping to load hundreds of presents from the lobby of Penn Avenue Place onto trucks that will take them to local Meals on Wheels kitchens for delivery to the seniors. A representative from Highmark will be on hand for interviews to discuss the program.
