HIRIS “a wearable computer, for everyone,” Indiegogo Campaign Now Live

Though fitness trackers and gesture-controlled gadgets have grown in popularity, we have not yet seen the seamless union of the two, until now. Currently live, the HIRIS Indiegogo campaign seeks funding for the mass production of its new, modular wearable computer, which is powerful enough to analyze 3D gesture movements as well as track fitness and sports performance in real time. HIRIS can be customized to adapt to any interest with a rich library of accompanying apps now available in the HIRIS Store. Through basic gestures, you can control drones, DJ decks, presentations, animations, gaming and more.
What makes HIRIS unique?
Unlike most wearables with one component, HIRIS offers two units, HIRIS Core and HIRIS Tracker. The HIRIS Core acts as a gesture-controlled hub, with wellness features to monitor your heart rate, track calories burned, steps taken, miles ran and much more than your average watch or wristband. By adding a geo extension card, you can track progress using the Core’s built-in altimeter and compass. HIRIS Core is also splash proof, allowing you to control other technology such as your smartphone, connected home devices, like lighting, and even, flying drones, with a flick of your wrist, creating an intuitive, connected environment that is tailored to your every need.
Used independently or in conjunction with the HIRIS Core, the HIRIS Tracker can be placed anywhere - from ankles and knees to snowboards and tennis rackets. As a more affordable option, it can effortlessly capture movement and generate precise performance metrics. Wear one, two or three, and the waterproof tracker communicates to one another in real time, while streaming data to your HIRIS Core, PC or smartphone.
Italian Design
Hailing from the country that brought us Lamborghini and Prada, HIRIS is designed and made in Italy. Combining luxury and futuristic design, its sleek, hexagonal shape is reminiscent of honeycombs, and like a bee’s hive, HIRIS works best when joined together with each other or other technologies.

HIRIS has a goal of raising $80,000 through its Indiegogo fundraising campaign, offering funders the ability to own a HIRIS Core starting at $164 for the early bird edition. HIRIS will be available for backing through March 1, 2015 and expects to ship its first devices as early as September 2015.
