LOUISVILLE, Colo., April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The spring-fed swimming pool at the historic Eldorado Springs Resort will be closed this coming summer of 2019 as it undergoes restoration and historic preservation. The Boulder County Commissioners made the project possible by approving zoning changes and historic landmark designation in July 2018. Eldorado Artesian Springs, Inc., owners of the historic resort, are excited to revive what has been referred to as "The Jewel of Boulder County."
The purpose of the project is to uphold the historic integrity of the site and construct a pool that will last another 116 years. Doug Larson, CEO of Eldorado Artesian Springs, Inc. explains, "Our goal is to maintain the look and feel of yesteryear, while making improvements to visitor amenities that align with the quality of our spring water."
The Eldorado Springs Resort first opened its doors on July 4, 1905. Rich in history, the pool has continued to provide a nostalgic experience unlike any other. The memories that resonate through time are what give the place such meaningful significance. Read more about the history of the resort at http://www.EldoradoSprings.com/Eldorado-Springs-Resort.
Eldorado Artesian Springs, Inc. has owned the resort since 1983 and is committed to sustaining the historic epicenter of Eldorado Springs. Jeremy Martin, Executive Vice President of Marketing, notes, "In our view, sustainability encompasses the preservation of the historic resort that was built around our spring water source. This includes energy efficiency upgrades in order to uphold our commitment to the environment."
The pool is fed directly by the natural artesian springs, the same source for the award-winning local spring water product, Eldorado Natural Spring Water. Read more about the water's source at http://www.EldoradoSprings.com/Seek-the-Source.
"This was a very difficult decision for us," explains Erica Larson, Resort Manager, "and we know how dearly the pool will be missed by our customers. This project comes from a place of duty, social responsibility, and commitment to the community. It's exciting to think about the pool being open for decades to come due to these efforts. We thank you for your patience and look forward to our visitors returning upon the reopening—we will miss you."
