WASHINGTON, May 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As the seventh annual national Infrastructure Week, May 13-20, launches in Washington, D.C., HNTB Corporation joined a group of top leaders from American business, labor and government to support the critical role infrastructure plays in the nation's economy and prosperity.
Rob Slimp, HNTB chairman and CEO, kicked off a week of nationwide events with opening remarks at the Ronald Reagan Building. He welcomed Steny Hoyer, U.S. House of Representatives' Majority Leader, Anthony Foxx, former Secretary of Transportation and Chief Policy Officer for Lyft, and other infrastructure experts to discuss funding at the federal, state and local levels; the impact of technology, climate change and demographic shifts on infrastructure; workforce and education priorities; and infrastructure's role in the country's ability to compete globally.

In addition to Slimp's opening remarks, firm leaders will take part in other IWeek events to highlight the critical importance of a well-funded, well-maintained U.S. transportation network. Eric Morris, HNTB Michigan office leader and vice president , will join a panel discussing the future of mobility on May 14, at IWeek's Midwestern Summit in Lansing, Michigan.
