HNTB projects spotlighted by ENR Midwest include:
- Design of Chicago O'Hare Airport's new runway 9C-27C, part of a $550 million modernization project at the airport that also includes taxiways and hold aprons that will upgrade and deliver greater efficiencies to airport operations.
- Design and program management of Milwaukee's new streetcar, The Hop, which opened in November connecting downtown businesses, educational institutions and attractions and nearby neighborhoods.
- Program management of Chicago Transit Authority's 5.3-mile, $2.3 billion Red Line Extension project, which will include four new stations.
- Construction management on the North Split, which includes environmental permitting, repairing and replacing deteriorating bridges, upgrading pavement and improving safety on the busy I-65 and I-70 interchange in Indianapolis.
Other projects HNTB is involved in across the region include the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency program (CREATE); the 17-mile Orange bus-rapid transit line in Minneapolis; and tolling programs with the City of Chicago, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Indiana DOT, Kansas Turnpike Authority, Ohio DOT and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
