Hokulia announces new Shave Ice/Ice Cream/Smoothie location in Parma
Parma, Ohio (PRWEB) June 07, 2018 -- Hokulia Shave Ice continues to expand its footprint and will be opening a new “Authentic Hawaiian” Hokulia Shave Ice location in Parma, OH. The location will feature shave ice, unique island ice creams flavors, and fresh topical flavored smoothies. The store will be the first in the greater Cleveland area and is located in the Tri City Center Plaza at 7894 Broadview Rd. Parma OH. The Parma location joins more than 60 Hokulia Shave Ice outlets throughout the country. Hokulia opened the Parma location for business on April 28, 2018 and is holding a Grand Opening celebration this week (May 28th – June 2nd) with specials every day. In June we will be awarding free shave ice for a year to one lucky winner.
At Hokulia, it’s about the ice—not ground into chunks, but a delicate shave that melts in your mouth. It’s not a snow cone, it is like eating cotton candy, but cool and refreshing. The shave ice is then topped with a choice from dozens of delicious flavors, imported from Hawaii, and made with pure cane sugar. “We call them ‘Waves of Flavor,’” said Clint Severson, Director of Hokulia Operations. Of course, the products also come in fat-free, gluten free and sugar free flavor combinations, catering to each customer’s own preference. The shave ice portions are enormous and are sold as a “Short Board” and “Long Board” on the menu. Customers can get it “Island Style” with a scoop of ice cream in the middle and with a Sno Cap, which is with creamy sweetened condensed milk drizzled on top. It is a “Taste of Hawaii,” just like you would find on the islands.
The creamy Hawaiian inspired ice creams are of premium quality. Hokulia is part of the Farr Better Ice Cream family; a company created more than 90 years ago by Asael Farr. Farr Better Ice Cream is one of the nation’s last mid-size ice cream and confectionary companies. You have to try a cup of Rocky Road to Hana with macadamia nuts, or maybe some Lava Flow-Coconut and Pineapple flavored ice cream with Strawberry Ripple.

The Parma store is locally owned and operated by Matt Sebring. Matt and his wife Sara, grew up in Parma and opening the first location in this community is a homecoming. It is exciting for both of them to open in a place where they have so many close ties. After trying shave ice at a location in Salt Lake City, Matt knew that Cleveland residents would love to have a taste of Hawaii in their own back yards.
