Supported holidays in Australia and Internationally
Holidays for people with a disability are now more achievable than ever before with the release of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme). Travel has always been difficult to book and make suitable arrangements and with little to no knowledge from the Travel industry it was made more complex. We can now welcome specialized Travel Agents and tour companies such as Clubmates Travel that take the pain away from making the bookings with specifically trained consultants.
How is it achievable and the NDIS
The release of the NDIS has provided funding to assist with support staff when on holidays and with the right planning and information the passenger’s costs can be reduced significantly by utilizing their NDIS funding. Previous to the NDIS funding the passenger would pay for all of their travel costs along with the support person making holidays too expensive. Holidays generally use money from “Core Supports” or “Capacity Building” areas of the plan.
