According to Dr. John Holzinger, founder of the practice, "This website will make it easier for us to interact with our patients. About the Dentists
A native of Camden, NJ, Dr. John Holzinger earned his bachelor's in psychology from Temple University and then graduated at the top of his class from Farleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine. He received numerous awards for his work and was granted membership in the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society.
Dr. Holzinger then completed his residency in Periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Falling in love with the area, he opened his first practice in Middletown in 1984. Dr. Holzinger is an associate professor at UConn's Department of Periodontology, and he has earned many awards over the years. In his free time, Dr. Holzinger enjoys competitive shooting, hiking, golfing, and spending time with his wife and children.
Dr. Michele Holzinger grew up in Durham and later Berlin, CT. She majored in history and pre-med at the University of Notre Dame, and then spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer, teaching children on the South Side of Chicago. She then completed her dental training at the Boston University Henry Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning the "Periodontics" award. "Dr. Michele" then followed in her father's footsteps, completing her residency in Periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
As a newlywed, Dr. Michele loves spending time with her husband, Paul, and their dog, Sam. She also enjoys swimming, running, and spending time outdoors, as well as reading, cross-stitching and crocheting.
Both doctors are committed to patient education, and they see their new Hybrid-Responsive™ website as a valuable tool. "We are excited to launch our new website and new blog and hope that it allows patients to find us and communicate with us more effectively."
