Kevin Oetken, co-owner of Home Supply Company and grandson of the late Al J. Schneider, who founded the owner-operating company of the Galt House Hotel, says Home Supply's involvement in the renovation project is "keeping it all in the family."

Al J. Schneider was one of Louisville's most beloved citizens, devoting much of his time and money to the redevelopment of downtown Louisville, charities, businesses and churches around the area. The project is the biggest renovation ever undertaken by the Galt House Hotel. While the intent is to modernize the hotel's design, management has emphasized their desire to keep its character intact. The multimillion-dollar renovation will include updating meeting spaces, guest rooms, lobbies, and restaurants. Renovations are on schedule to be completed by the fall of 2020, with many newly redesigned rooms already made available to the public.
