Home Cage Temperature and Activity Monitoring of Rodent Cardiovascular Models Using RFID Microchips Pre- and Post-Surgery, Upcoming Webinar Hosted by Xtalks
TORONTO (PRWEB) April 29, 2019 -- Join Brad Gien, Head of North America Surgery, Envigo and Matt Ruiter, CSO, UID Identification Solutions in a live session on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11am EDT (4pm BST/UK) to learn about Cardiovascular surgical models in conjunction with a new radio-frequency identification (RFID) system which allows for passive real-time monitoring of location, movement and animal temperature in a home cage setting. The data generated is used to facilitate better surgical outcomes and improved surgical recovery procedures. The real-time data can be used to quickly identify any post-surgical recovery issues and correct them before they reach a critical level.
Researchers can record the animal’s location and temperature to provide a behavioral analysis of the animal in a single or group-housed setting after surgical procedures. A comparative study reveals insights on rodent surgical model recovery aspects, in conjunction to cardiovascular surgeries like myocardial infarction (MI) and transverse aortic constriction (TAC) models. The speakers, who together have over 30 years of animal surgery experience, will also discuss the positive impact on animal welfare (3R’s) in surgical models.
This webinar will appeal to researchers, surgeons and others working in animal model surgery, toxicology, cardiology, PK/PD research and in vivo research.
