Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) July 21, 2016 -- Relief Bed Int'l (RBI) recently concluded its Southern California segment of its US Tour, but not without leaving a lasting impact on several non-profits who support people challenged by homelessness.
With the support of Progressive Products Inc (PPI) a division of BekaertDeslee and Elite Comfort Solutions, RBI was able to donate 50 Relief Pads™ to Path of Life Ministries in Riverside, CA. Path of Life Ministries will utilize these sleeping pads for emergency shelter during extreme weather and the cold winter months.
“We have lived, worked and supported the Riverside community for more than 20 years and were very excited when asked to help provide sleeping pads to the Path of Life Ministries shelter”, said Todd Schmidt PPI Founder.
“Our heartfelt thanks to Relief Bed International, PPI and Elite Comfort Solutions for the donation of Relief Beds which helps us provide crisis intervention services and a way forward to those we serve with dignity and respect. We believe that these tangible expressions of love are a key part of this equation”, Stated Damien O’Farrell CEO of Path of Life Ministries.
RBI also donated 30 beds consisting of 15 Tri-Fold sleeping pads and 15 Relief Beds to an organization called Giving Children Hope located in Buena Park, California. This non-profit provides medical resources, nutritional foods, and other basic necessities to families at risk of homelessness.
Giving Children Hope Executive Director, Sean Lawrence shared, "Relief Bed offers the chance to get the kids we serve off the floor and on to a bed, allowing them to succeed in school after a good night’s sleep."
RELIEF KIT™ PROJECT
During a Relief Kit™, “On Location”, project in Venice Beach, California, RBI’s Founder Smalling and Tour Director Jose Arreola were joined by actor/director Joely Fisher and her family to hand out Relief Kits™ to people in need.
“I believe we have the obligation and the honor to do everything we can to improve human life and dignity. So at this point in my life and career I am picking projects that inspire me and also will provide teachable moments for my children. I believe Relief Beds mission embodies all of this”, Joely Fisher Actor/Director.
“We were thrilled to be joined by Joely and family during our project in Venice Beach. Along with our goal to create awareness around homelessness, we also want to develop as many ‘Relief Bed Ambassadors’ as possible.” Beamed Smalling.
Relief Kits™ are comprised of life sustaining items such as an all-weather sleeping pad, bottled water, snacks, First Aid Kit, hygiene supplies and other miscellaneous items to express love for the recipients, like candy, playing cards and a Bible. All of these items are carefully packed into a fabric carrying case with shoulder strap that can be used for other things in the future.
RBI’s US Tour is moving north through Denver, Salt Lake City and Idaho Falls before it will return to the Pacific Northwest for a short break to include mechanical checks on its tour rig and most importantly to restock their trailer with more Relief products for the much larger 2nd phase of the Tour which will reach across the entire US.
