HomeTrackR Brings Real Estate Technology Home to Charleston, SC
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- South Carolina native and long time Charleston resident, Rich Estes, is coming home and bringing his real estate technology company with him. After venturing to Washington, DC in 2011 to pursue an MBA at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Rich has decided to move his family and new business, HomeTrackR, back to Charleston, SC.
Rich’s career background is in residential construction and real estate, but today he is leveraging his knowledge with technology. His new company HomeTrackR provides critical data reports on homes, similar to the way Carfax does for automobiles. QuickLook Reports reveal history about permits, inspections, mortgages, property damage, and even the contractors who previously worked on the home.
“It’s the natural evolution of data transparency for residential real estate.” Estes said. “Our data and reports will arm buyers with information they have never had access to before and it will save buyers and real estate agents thousands by weeding out homes with hidden problems. Buyers deserve to know the truth about the home they are buying but property disclosure statements give owners too much latitude to omit critical information.”
When asked about why he is moving from Washington, DC to Charleston, Estes said, "Charleston is a creative, energetic, bustling city of young entrepreneurs. Silicon Harbor, as it is now being called, is attracting serious technology attention from all around the country and we are happy to join the effort in promoting the great city. DC has been good to me, but there's just no other place in the world like Charleston."
HomeTrackR is currently producing reports in select national markets and is rolling out the web and mobile app this spring. The move will happen this fall and the company selects a headquarters sometime this coming summer. HomeTrackR will immediately employ 10-15 programmers, marketing pros, and service personnel. Plans are to bring on more staff in 2015 with up to 50 full time positions.
