Newsweek researched over 9,500 businesses which they compiled by using online directories and databases along with price comparison websites to identify the most relevant online shops. The shops with the most American visitors in 2020 were then selected for further evaluation.
Online stores were then divided into 8 main industries and 39 categories before being tested by professionals and rated by consumers. The professionals tested the shops based on 41 objective criteria across seven dimensions, and the consumers rated them based on 10 criteria across those same seven dimensions. Examples of those dimensions include purchase and delivery, technical details, and likelihood to purchase.
A sub-score from each dimension was calculated, with a score out of 10 being determined for each online shop. HomeWetBar.com earned a 7.95 overall score. The exact scores for each dimension were not released.
This is the second time HomeWetBar.com has made Newsweek's best online shops list, having come in at No. 6 in "Household Appliances" for 2020.
