With Honda's support over the past four years, the Casey Feldman Foundation continues to bring distracted-driving education to students in New Jersey and Colorado, with thousands more expected to participate during the 2026–27 school year.
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- End Distracted Driving (EndDD.org), a program of the Casey Feldman Foundation, is recognizing four consecutive years of support from Honda that have helped expand teen distracted-driving education in New Jersey and Colorado, reaching more than 10,000 students over the past several years.
Honda's continued support has helped EndDD bring its science-based distracted-driving presentations to more schools, provide educational materials, and advance research aimed at making driver-safety education more effective.
As the 2026–27 school year gets underway, EndDD has already delivered presentations at 12 schools, reaching nearly 1,000 students. Another 1,000 students are expected to participate over the next few months, with additional programs scheduled in New Jersey and Colorado for 2027. By the end of the school year, EndDD anticipates reaching another 4,000–5,000 students in the two states.
EndDD's presentations go beyond the dangers of texting and driving. Students learn about speeding, defensive driving, the risks of taking their eyes off the road, and the importance of speaking up when a friend or family member drives distracted.
One particularly important focus is helping teens recognize that they have a role in preventing crashes even before they become drivers themselves.
Students frequently share concerns about the driving behaviors they observe among adults, including parents who text, look at phones, or exceed speed limits while driving.
EndDD's educational approach encourages young passengers to communicate those concerns and empowers them to become advocates for safer driving within their families and communities.
In addition to expanding educational outreach, Honda's support has contributed to EndDD's efforts to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of distracted-driving prevention programs.
EndDD has worked with Johns Hopkins University on the development of a web-based educational application focused on helping teen drivers recognize the dangers of long glances away from the road and improve hazard anticipation.
Honda's support has also helped EndDD work with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center to evaluate the effectiveness of its teen distracted-driving presentations.
The research is intended to help identify educational approaches that influence students' attitudes and behaviors, including their willingness to speak up when someone drives distracted.
