Hoops4Heroes 3-ON-3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser Returns to West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 30, 2015 -- Hoops4Heroes, Palm Beach County’s first basketball tournament fundraiser, is returning to Palm Beach Atlantic University for the second year, to raise donations for Wounded Warrior Project during the weekend following Veteran’s Day, which is Tuesday, November 9th, 2015.
The amateur 3-ON-3 basketball tournament raised almost $5,000 for Wounded Warrior Project during last year’s inaugural game. The event drew twelve teams and nearly three hundred people. This year, organizers hope to raise twice as much in funds, with sixteen teams, and over five hundred spectators.
The venue can easily accommodate that level of support. Hosted by the Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation on the PBA campus in downtown West Palm Beach, the University has been an important partner to the event’s organizers. “One of the reasons Hoops4Heroes has been a successful fundraiser, without question, is the commitment PBA has provided to help us fulfill our vision for this tournament”, said the event’s organizer, Tom Copeland, Marketing Director at the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A.
The tournament will be held on Sunday, November 15th, 2015, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a Color Guard and the national anthem presented by the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps of Palm Beach County. Other events scheduled throughout the day include a wheelchair basketball team demonstration and the presenting of various trophies and awards, including the Champion’s Trophy.
Players who are interested in entering the Sweet-16 double-elimination style basketball tournament are asked to register a team at http://hoops4heroes.org, and make a minimum donation of $60 to Wounded Warrior Project on the dedicated Hoops4Heroes fundraising page, found at http://gld.la/h4h-2015.
